About me
I was born in The Netherlands in 1973, and from an early age I have been involved with computers. I acquired a B.A.S.I.C. certification at age thirteen. Throughout my teens my main interest was of course games, but as the years passed those interests changed. I experimented with 3D design, programming and graphics design.
The first steps
After following one of the early educations geared towards computing, I got an internship and my first experience working with people in a company environment doing support, application design and network management. In 1996 I set my first digital footprint on the internet, and quickly got interested in websites and website design.
Birth of Metalusions
After making and launching a few websites I set up a partnership with someone very talented in art and business in the United States and gained experience in the much more mature and competitive market. This lead to the birth of Metalusions. After a few years the internet reached a mature status on this side of the pond, I also started doing projects in my own country.
For more than a decade I ran my own business, for various clients and doing various jobs. One of these clients was De Nieuwe Band, who offered me a job in 2008. I gave it a lot of thought and decided I wanted more time to enjoy life and accepted the job.
Back to “normal” life
Having a normal job has put my work for my own company more on the sideline, but I still use the experience gained daily. Though I am no longer hunting for new projects for my company, I still have good ties with existing clients and I still get involved in the odd project every now and then.
What's next?
Throughout all those years my interest in computers and related has not decreased in any way. I still continue to learn new things almost every day, and I hope to do so for a long time to come. I love solving problems, making other's work of life easier and helping them reach their goals using the power of computers in whichever form possible. I care more about delivering a good result or product than anything else.
Part of the time I now have available I hope to spend on studying subjects I have mastered by educating myself, or to learn new things in completely different areas. I enjoy following all the new developments in computing and on the internet, and hope to do so for a long time to come.
